NeWs FLaSH!! – South African Gender row athlete Caster Semenya’s AMaZInG MAKEOVER!! What do you think?
Gender row athlete Caster Semenya has undergone an amazing transformation to become a cover girl for a glossy magazine.
The 800m champion swapped her tracksuit and trainers for a fashionable dress and stilettos for the photoshoot for You Magazine.
Despite having to be persuaded by the magazine’s stylist before getting dolled-up, eighteen-year-old Caster later admitted she enjoyed dressing up for the cameras.
“I didn’t do this to prove a point but rather to have fun. I don’t give a damn what people say about me. I like me the way I am and who cares what other people say?” the Pretoria University student said.
“I enjoyed the shoot, wish I could do more, but I can’t because I don’t have time for them. I have training to prepare for the Commonwealth Games, which are soon, and [studies] to get through at the same time.”
“I’d like to dress up more often and wear dresses, but I never get the chance. I’d also like to learn to do my own make-up,” she added.
Semenya’s triumph at last month’s World Althletics Championships in Berlin was overshadowed by controversy when the International Association of Athletics Federations announced muscular runner would have to undergo a gender test amid doubts that she was actually a woman.
